Early mornings at the Polynesian Cultural Center are my favorite times of the day. There’s a light dew on everything. The lagoon water is clear, reflecting the soft rays of the sun as it begins to peak out over the horizon. It’s quiet and peaceful except for the soft hum of the leaf blowers in the background and the scratching noise of rakes gathering the fallen leaves off the ground.

Big mahalo to all the unsung heroes of PCC’s Maintenance Department that keep this tropical paradise so beautiful.

It’s mostly a thankless job, out of the spotlight and without fanfare. They are here early every morning, doing what they do to make this special place shine.
