Marvin J. Ashton of the Twelve (left) presents a special gift to His Excellency Zhao Ziyang, Premier of the People’s Republic of China, in the foyer of the BYU–Hawaii David O. McKay Building. Zhao paid a special visit to the Center on January 7, 1984, following a diplomatic visit to Washington DC. It was not known at the time that Premier Zhao’s daughter had been one of the original Asian Executive Management intern trainees at the joint PCC/BYUH program.
